Bond’s Girl
With party season upon us, there’s no time to waste when it comes to perfecting your beauty looks. Let Ella Loudon, the woman shaking up the red carpet aesthetic, be your guide…
Ella Loudon is one of the theatre’s rising stars, and the statuesque blonde certainly shone when she appeared alongside her dad, Daniel Craig, at the premiere of the latest James Bond movie, No Time To Die. Wearing a Brunello Cucinelli tuxedo and Faberge pendant as 007’s date, Loudon certainly made her mark on the event, and we instantly wanted to know more about how this outdoorsy 28-year-old Shakespeare & Company favourite dials up the glamour when she needs to.
Somehow, in the midst of her excitingly chaotic schedule, Hood caught up with the actress, model, and domestic violence advocate at The Balmoral in Edinburgh—the city she calls home—to talk all things beauty, from simple skincare to red carpet allure.
ELLA ON SKINCARE
I experienced acne when I was younger and have recently been diagnosed with a few food allergies which were definitely impacting my skin. By cutting out gluten, soy, and refined sugars, I’ve noticed a real improvement. I spend a lot of time outdoors and use good quality products to protect my skin and give it a barrier from the elements. My mum has amazing skin and always insists on us using an SPF, come rain or shine, so it’s something I’ve grown up with.
ELLA ON DAY MAKEUP
If I’m at home in Scotland or my adopted home of upstate New York, I’m most likely to be found at a farmer’s market or out walking, so I don’t bother with makeup too much then. If I’m auditioning, I keep it very light—tinted moisturiser, brown mascara, bit of definition to my brows and a rosy pink lipstick.
ELLA ON EVENING MAKEUP
In the evening, I like to have fun and experiment with different looks. I suit a smokey eye and have become pretty good at perfecting it. But nothing beats sitting in the makeup artist’s chair and knowing it is being done by a professional hand. I like a smokey eye look and usually go for plum shades as they are softer than a slate shadow and really make my eyes pop. I’m also a fan of the classic red lip and have quite a collection of different tones and textures.
