Celebrate the Scottish Coastline and Sea with Marine Fest 2021

Explore the wonders of Scotland’s marine environment at the Scottish Seabird Centre’s first ever Marine Fest from 31st May till 13th June.

In 2021, Scotland continues to celebrate its coasts and waters with a programme of activities and events which will shine a spotlight on these vital elements of our landscape. As part of the Year of Coasts and Waters 2021, Marine Fest is a celebration of Scotland’s amazing coastal habitats and wildlife.

The Scottish Seabird Centre will host a series of outdoor and on-line events at their stunning coastal location, overlooking the Firth of Forth islands, which grants the festival unparalleled access to the sea, coast and beaches. The surrounding waters and islands are of international importance for their habitats and wildlife, including the world’s largest Northern gannet colony (Bass Rock). Marine Fest will make full use of this stunning setting, including a mile of golden sand and rockpools full of fascinating wildlife. Outdoor events will be supplemented by digital events which will be accessible to those unable to physically visit the Centre.

From storytelling sessions for kids, puffin-spotting on coastal wildlife walks, to rock-pool rambles and boat excursions with the lobster trawlers - there is something for the whole family.

We are particularly excited about the dinner at the Seabird Centre in collaboration with local company, Lewis & Clarke, on 4th June.

Kate Lewis & Veronica (Ronnie) Clarke have both worked  in hospitality for over 25 years, from Michelin starred 4 Rosette establishments to cruise ships, hotels to brasseries. They believe passionately about great food, service and local produce, and for £55 per person you can see for yourself. Guests will enjoy a bespoke tailored menu, where produce from the sea and coast* will be the main attraction, to celebrate Scotland’s amazing habitats & wildlife served in the unique venue of the Seabird Centre with a view across the Firth of Forth & Bass Rock. As you tuck into canapés, three courses and petit fours you will also be supporting an amazing Scottish conservation & education charity.

A drinks package of welcome drink and a drink to match each course is also available for £30 per person. A small selection of alcoholic & non alcoholic beverages will be available on the evening.
