With holidays on the horizon, it’s time to get practicing your beachy waves for an effortless hairstyle that will see you through the summer. A classic, relaxed ‘do that works on just about any hair length and type, here’s how to achieve the look…

  1. Start by giving hair a deep cleanse with a detoxifying shampoo like Kevin Murphy’s Maxi.Wash to remove product build-up, soothe the scalp and add life to the hair. Then shampoo using the Kevin Murphy Plumping.Wash to add body and thickness to the hair before styling, and condition the middle section and ends of hair with the Kevin Murphy Plumping.Rinse.

  2. After washing and conditioning, absorb any excess water before blowdrying by wrapping hair in a microfibre towel - we love the ones by Kitsch.

  3. Mix together Kevin Murphy Anti.Gravity with L'Oréal Professionnel Tecni ART Pli Shaper to add shape, memory, grip and hold to the hair. Apply this mixture to wet hair, before blowdrying with the GHD Air Hair Dryer - use your hands rather than a brush at this stage.

  4. Separate your partially dried hair into clean sections with clips and begin blowdrying the front hairline using an Ibiza Hair EX5 brush. Over-direct the hair upwards for maximum volume and lift.

  5. Working your way around your head, spray each section with Ouai Memory Mist and activate with heat to lock in the style.

  6. Once the hair is completely dry, roll up and secure each blowdried section at the scalp with Harry Josh Pro Setting Clips. They’re fantastic for securing and setting larger sections of hair without adding a crease or line.

  7. Add a diffuser to your GHD Air (we love the YS Park Ion Mesh Diffuser) and use the cool shot to set the hair.

  8. Finally, remove the clips and shake the hair out. Tousle loosely and spray with a lightweight texturising hairspray to keep the gorgeous beachy waves in place.
