With the festive season on the horizon, Scotland’s cities are being transformed into winter wonderlands all over. And if you’re planning on visiting the capital this Christmas, you should definitely stop by one of the most festive transformations we’ve seen so far, at Edinburgh’s The Ivy on the Square.

This Christmas, The Ivy on the Square has been transformed into a gingerbread haven, with a special gingerbread house-themed installation across its entrance, which makes the ideal spot for a seasonal selfie before you head inside for a festive feast.

As well as the gingerbread-inspired installation, customers will also be able to enjoy a menu of suitably seasonal themed cocktails, launching on 15 December and available until 1st January.

Coffee connoisseurs will love The Ivy on the Square’s festive take on the classic, with a specially-created Gingerbread Espresso Martini - a blend of Wyborowa vodka, espresso, coffee liqueur and gingerbread syrup - or for a similar flavour without the booze, try the deliciously warming Gingerbread Latte instead. Either would perk up weary shoppers perfectly after a day of shopping on nearby George Street!

Other festive options include Mulled Cider and a bourbon-laced Roasted Chestnut Julep, both of which would make the ideal tipple for a cosy, Christmassy night with friends.
