Pooch owners assemble! A Glasgow pub has scooped the accolade of the most dog-friendly pub in Scotland, making it the perfect spot to visit with your four-legged friends.

The Stables in Kirkintilloch saw off competition from over 70 other venues in Scotland, to take the first prize in the Dog-Friendly Pub Awards, run by Rover.com, which celebrates pubs with dog-friendly initiatives and encourages pubs across the country to welcome four legs as warmly as two.

The Stables is renowned in the local area for being the ideal place to rest and refresh after a brisk walk with the dogs, and it’s no surprise, given the pub’s extensive list of dog-friendly amenities, including a special menu and even a ‘doggy station’, to clean up any mucky pups post-walk.

Stuart Brand from The Stables said, “We’re absolutely delighted, we love to host four-legged guests at our pub. We offer them treats, put on event dates and make sure that our guests know that we have water bowls, treats, a menu and even doggy beer available to them. We’re chuffed to win this award, it’s really great to hear that our guests love the pub as much as us.”
