Ahead of Hogmanay, here’s a selection of deliciously sparkly prosecco cocktail recipes to whip up and serve to your guests - the ideal aperitifs to help you get the party started on December 31st!

Prosecco Royale

Ingredients: Prosecco, crème de cassis, lemon juice, blueberries, thyme

  • Mix one part crème de cassis with one tablespoon of lemon juice, and pour into your glass

  • Fill the glass with prosecco, et voila!

  • You can also add some blueberries, skewered onto a sprig of thyme, if you’re feeling extra fancy

Bakewell fizz

Ingredients: Prosecco, kirsch-soaked cherries, kirsch, amaretto

  • Pop a pre-soaked kirsch cherry into the bottom of your glass, and add in a splash of kirsch

  • Top with one part amaretto, and three parts prosecco. Deliciously sweet and indulgent!

Hibiscus prosecco

Ingredients: Prosecco, hibiscus flowers and syrup (available from Lakeland and other artisan food shops)

  • Put a hibiscus flower and one tablespoon of its syrup, then fill the glass with prosecco. Floral and fruity, an elegant cocktail that’s super simple to make

Sophie Dahl’s rosecco

Ingredients: Prosecco, rose syrup

  • Fill your glass with prosecco

  • Drizzle in a splash of rose syrup, allowing it to trickle to the bottom

  • Enchanting and festive, sprinkle some edible shimmer into this one for a touch of extra glam!

Ginger pear prosecco

Ingredients: Prosecco, sugar, ground cinnamon, stem ginger and syrup, pear juice

  • Mix a tablespoon of sugar with half a teaspoon of cinnamon in a small dish

  • Wet the rim of your glass with water, and then dip the rim into the cinnamon sugar mixture

  • Pour a tablespoon of the ginger syrup into your glass, then top with equal quantities of pear juice and prosecco

  • Garnish with a slice of stem ginger.
